Stefan Ikarus Kaiser

Stefan Ikarus Kaiser absolvierte ein Musikstudium am Bruckner Konservatorium Linz und schloss mit Diplomen im Konzertfach Klavier, in Musiktheorie, Chorleitung, Lehrbefähigung Klavier, Studium der Musikwissenschaft und einer Fächerkombination aus Philosophie und Klassischer Philologie an der Universität Salzburg ab. Ab 2002 folgten ein zweijähriger Forschungsaufenthalt in Rom sowie 2004 die Promotion an der Universität Wien. Seit 2001 ist Kaiser Stiftsorganist der Zisterzienserabtei Wilhering in Oberösterreich. Seit 2009 ist er für die Kommission für Musikforschung tätig. Forschungsschwerpunkte sind dabei die Musikgeschichte der griechischen Antike, die Geschichte der Kirchenmusik und Quellenforschung (insbesondere zum 19. Jahrhundert). Ikarus Kaiser veröffentlichte zahlreiche Publikationen, darunter die neueste und umfangreichste: Die Fragmente des Aristoxenos aus Tarent. Neu herausgegeben und ergänzt, erläutert und übersetzt von Stefan Ikarus Kaiser, Hildesheim / Zürich / New York 2010 (Spudasmata 128, hg. von Gottfried Kiefner und Ulrich Köpf).
