Matthias Thonhauser

Matthias Thonhauser (geboren 1966) ist Theaterschaffender, Theaterpädagoge, Theologe und Lehrer. Mitte der 1980er-Jahre war er zunächst im Projekt Friedensdienst in Steyr tätig und arbeitete in den darauffolgenden zwei Jahren als Volontär in einem landwirtschaftlichen Projekt in Kolumbien. Im Zuge seiner Theologiestudiums hielt sich Thonhauser zu religionswissenschaftlichen Forschungen in den Südanden Perus auf. Zwischen 2002 und 2004 absolvierte er eine Ausbildung zum Integrativen Gestaltpädagogen. Verschiedene Theaterformen – schwerpunktmäßig das Forumtheater – spielt bereits seit 1990 eine wichtige Rolle in der Arbeit Thonhausers. Er ist Mitbegründer des österreichischen Netzwerkes Arge Forumtheater und seit 2007 als freiberuflicher Theaterpädagoge tätig, unter anderem auch bei Projekten in Kirgistan. In Österreich leitet Thonhauser Workshops beim Verein FAB, bei Attac Österreich, im Bildungshaus Spes Schlierbach und an Schulen. 2005 kommt es zur Gründung von Forumtheater Linz. Thonhauser ist organisatorisch und inhaltlicher Verantwortlicher für das WeltForumTheaterFestival 2009 in Linz.
