Bartel Meyer

Bartel Meyer (geboren 1967) studierte Soziologie und Literaturwissenschaften. 1991 kam es zur Gründung des Meiervarietés, eines Zusammenschlusses von 30 Kleinkünstlern aus den Bereichen Artistik, Jonglage, Zauberei, Comedy etc. Ab 1995 war Meyer als „lebende Statue“ international unterwegs: auf Festivals, Straßenkunstevents oder schlicht in Fußgängerzonen oder an Stränden. Seit Ende der 1990er-Jahre organisiert und/oder leitet er Straßenkunstfestivals in Deutschland und der Schweiz und realisiert laufend Cross-over-Projekte im Bereich von Kunst/Musik/Theater. 2006 gründete Meyer „Performance Paderborn“, eine Kulturbörse für Open-Air-Produktionen. Seit 2008 ist er Vorstandsmitglied des Bundesverbandes Theater im öffentlichen Raum e. V. Aus einer Kooperation mit dem Theater Anu entstanden unter anderem Arbeiten, die im Rahmen der Eröffnung von Ruhr2010 oder bei den Veranstaltungen anlässlich des 20. Jahrestages des Mauerfalls zu sehen waren. Gemeinsam mit 80 Künstlern aus Gran Canaria entwickelt Meyer 2011 ein Kulturprojekt zur Bewerbung von Las Palmas als Kulturhauptstadt Europas 2016.
