Afraid of global warming? The lessons global warming can teach us
The intramontane development of glaciers and vegetation provides evidence for the conclusion that the current climate change is nothing out of the ordinary. Even without anthropogenic forcings, 65% of the last 10,000 years display average temperatures that were higher than they are today. This much we know for sure from ice cores from the polar regions. What the future holds in store for us in climatic terms cannot be predicted from the available evidence.
