Josef Pichler

Josef Pichler (born in 1966) studied medicine at Vienna University and received his training as a GP and specialist registrar at the Elisabethinen Hospital in Linz. Since 1998 he has been an Associate Specialist for Internal Medicine at the Landesnervenklinik Wagner-Jauregg, since 2007 also chairman of the team of Internal Medicine consultants. Since 1999 he has been head of the neurooncological outpatient department and has initiated the Centre for Neurooncology at the Landesnervenklinik. Pichler has taken part in several international studies on malignant brain tumors and is a member of  the Brain Tumor Group within EORTC (European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer). He is currently working on compiling a tumor data bank for research on brain tumors.
