Helmut Thome

Studierte Soziologie, Psychologie, Politik und Publizistik in Berlin, Minneapolis und Am-herst. Er ist seit 1993 Professor für Soziologie an der Universität Halle-Wittenberg. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte betreffen die Modellierung langfristiger sozialer Prozesse, insbe-sondere die Anwendbarkeit zeitreihenanalytischer Modelle und Verfahren in den Sozialwis-senschaften, außerdem die Analyse von „Solidarität“ und „Identität“ in modernen Gesell-schaften, sowie die Historische Sozialforschung, insbesondere die Kriminalitätsforschung. Er ist Autor zahlreicher Publikationen.
