Michael Oman

Michael Oman – born 1963 in Linz – is among the leading and most versatile recorder players of his generation. His teachers included Walter van Hauwe and Kees Boeke. With his Oman Consort he has made a number of prize winning CD recordings for the lable “ORF Edition Alte Musik” over the last few years. Oman appears regularly as a soloist and as a member of chamber music ensembles at the most renowned European festivals and in concerts all over the world together with Austrian baroque music ensembles. From 2009 he is under contract to Sony BMG. Michael Oman has been teaching recorder and chamber music in his capacity as professor at the Institut für Alte Musik und historische Aufführungspraxis of the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz since 1989.
