Sebastian Vehlken

Sebastian Vehlken has been a research associate since 2007 for Epistemology and the Philosophy of Digital Media at the Institute of Philosophy of Vienna University. He read Film and Television Studies, Journalism and Economics at Bochum University and Media Studies in Perth. In 2002 he was awarded third prize by  Deutscher Studienpreis der Körber-Stiftung. Between 2005 and 2007 he was a DFG fellow (GK Mediale Historiographien, Weimar). He is currently writing a PhD thesis entitled “Schwärme. Medialitäten und Politiken der Unschärfe”. Other areas of research of interest to him include the theory and history of digital media; media in biology; and the epistemology of computer simulation.
