Thomas Lebzelter

Thomas Lebzelter (born 1970) read Physics and Astronomy at Vienna University, graduated in 1999 and habilitated in 2006 in Observational Astrophysics. Between 2002 and 2005 he held an APART bursary of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and successfully realized several research projects. He is currently working at the Institute of Astronomy of Vienna University. Lebzelter’s research priority is the late stages of the evolution of stars. He had the opportunity of doing research in the United States and in Australia and is part of the ESA mission “Gaia”, which carries out surveying work in the Milky Way. Lebzelter is a member of the International Astronomical Society and a board member of the Austrian Society of Astronomy and Astrophysics.
